Designed specifically for Menarche blessingways, Luna incorporates the symbolism of the moon and acts as a bridge between the Maiden's childhood and her new Womanhood. Her body is the creamy white of the full moon, her hair the deep black of the dark moon. Her necklace is of garnets or moonstones, the traditional stones for gift-giving at Menarche, and she has a crescent moon on her forehead, symbol of waxing fertility. On her belly she wears an embroidery of the phases of the moon.
